The Latest Scoop traces its roots back more than 50 years, to a family recipe first learned by a young Sid Clemmer, who went on to study at the Penn State Ice Cream Short Course and win recognition at the Austin Ice Cream Festival before opening shop in San Angelo. Today, the business carries forward that same tradition of handmade ice cream, made fresh in-house from scratch, including the waffle cones.

The shop sits at 37A W Concho Avenue, inside a building with its own San Angelo history: the former home of the old downtown bus station.
